Background

Taipei Dome is not only a new international landmark that integrates premium office towers, a stadium, shopping mall, and cinema complex, but also a leading symbol of smart urban living.

With the official launch of its top‑tier office building, the daily flow of people has become increasingly diverse and complex, including resident corporate employees, temporary business visitors, VIP guests, and event engineering teams. To strictly prevent unauthorized entry and safeguard corporate privacy and security at the highest standards, the Dome faces unprecedented challenges in access management.

To meet these demands, the Dome has fully adopted Hundure Technology’s dual‑credential access control solution combining MIFARE contactless cards and QR codes. This smart system is seamlessly integrated into lobby turnstiles, elevators, and various access points, achieving the perfect balance of high security, superior convenience, and future scalability. The solution not only greatly enhances entry management efficiency but also establishes a safe, intelligent, and internationally benchmarked environment. Through the implementation of this smart access control system, the Taipei Dome further strengthens its security defenses and personnel management, providing enterprises and international visitors with a safer and more convenient access experience, while continuing to lead the city toward a new milestone of smart and global development.

Project Requirements

Hardwares:
  • Access Control for Building Turnstiles: Office buildings must be equipped with access control panels and card readers (supporting both RFID cards and QR codes) to manage the entry and exit of employees and visitors through the turnstiles, ensuring that only authorized personnel can pass.
  • Lift/Elevator Floor Control: Elevators must be integrated with floor control panels capable of reading employee access cards (including QR codes) and visitor QR code passes. The system will automatically unlock the authorized floors accordingly, ensuring personnel can only access the floors they are permitted to enter.
  • Other Access Control Areas: Access control is enforced for restricted areas (such as mechanical and electrical rooms), ensuring that only a limited number of authorized employees and maintenance personnel can gain entry.
Softwares:
  • Turnstile Access & Schedule Management: The system allows configuration of access permissions and time schedules for both employees and visitors at the lobby turnstiles.
  • Credential Support (Cards & QR Codes): The system supports employee access cards as well as visitor QR codes printed from self-service kiosks.
  • Elevator Floor & Schedule Control: The system enables the configuration of floor access permissions and time schedules for elevators.
  • Hundure QR Code Standard & Future Expansion: The system supports the Hundure standard QR code format, with the capability to expand to mobile credentials (mobile access) in the future.
  • Role-Based Restricted Area Access: Access permissions to restricted areas can be granted based on the specific job functions and roles of the employees.
Configurations:
  • Lobby Turnstile Access Control: RAC-2400N-BS + ACU-100 V3.0 + PXR-Q3MWS(CE)
  • Elevator Access Control: HDE-100WS + PXR-Q1MSL(CE) + EPC-408
  • Other Access Control Areas: RAC-2400N-BS paired with an L-shaped card reader, integrated with the ACU-30 based on specific project requirements.

Function Descriptions

Access & Entry Process
  • Employees: Swipe their MIFARE cards to pass through the lobby turnstiles and utilize the elevators to go upstairs or downstairs based on their card permissions.
  • Visitors: Register at the Kiosk to receive a QR Code pass. They can pass through the lobby turnstiles within the designated timeframe and utilize the elevators based on the QR Code permissions.
  • VIPs: Pass through the lobby turnstiles using a QR Code as well. The system will verify the validity period and floor permissions to ensure building security.
  • Security Verification: For entry, visitor passes must be checked for issue time and expiration. For exit, the validity period must also be verified against the system record.

QR Code Management
  • Issuance & Compatibility: QR Codes are generated and issued by the Kiosk, supporting both turnstiles and elevators simultaneously.
  • Date & Time Restrictions:

General Visitors: Must enter the turnstiles within 15 minutes of the designated start time; otherwise, the pass expires, and a re-application is required.

VIPs: The turnstiles will grant access precisely according to their scheduled validity period.

  • Elevator Control Integration:

Employee Cards: Floors are unlocked based on the access permissions downloaded to the card/system.

  • Visitors & VIPs: Access is granted by cross-referencing the QR Code’s validity period, the specific Elevator ID, and the authorized floor permissions.
